Please check back to visit our horses, we are in the
process of resizing them for uploading.

charlie3

Charlie: 13-year-old Welsh Pony. Charlie was on his way to the auction in Hazelhurst, Georgia when he came to us. He is an adorable pony but has severe issues. Charlie is an abuse case, he was severely beaten by men most of his life. He has come a long way since his arrival, but he still needs extensive handling. Even though Charlie can be very lovable when he has a mind to be we have doubts that he will ever be rideable again. Charlie may remain on the unadoptable list due to his issues – only time will tell.

Charlie still has some issues with brushing, bathing and getting his feet done but he seems to be getting better. Most times the farrier can do 3 of them before he starts having attitude. Once he gets to know you and builds trust with you he will follow you around like a puppy and let you love on him. We hope that someday Charlie can have his forever, loving home with someone that only wants a pasture mate.

lucky

Lucky: 6-year-old Palomino Gelding. A cow kicked Lucky when he was a baby and because of that he has calcium deposits on his stomach and curvature of the spine. He is a wonderful horse and very friendly. He loves attention and loves to lick. Lucky is such a sweetheart! He would make a great pasture mate. He can never be ridden.

Lucky has gained approximately 100 pounds since his arrival at TLHR. Per our vet, we need to keep his weight where it is. If he gains to much weight it will cause him pain and the excess weight will not be good for his back.

He loves his treats, and it doesn't matter what kind of treats they are either. Of course he does not like to share - he wants them all to himself.

Available for Adoption - Pasture Mate ONLY

Grace_3

Grace: 5-year-old Registered Arabian mix. Grace came to TLHR because her previous owners were moving to the Midwest and unable to take her with them. She was listed for free on the Internet and since slaughter is an issue we wrote to her owners offering to take her in. After several emails back and forth we welcomed Grace to the rescue. She has a soft cleft palette (hole in the top of her mouth). When she eats and/or drinks it comes out her nose. We checked into surgery for her but it was recommended not to do it because of how severe the procedure was and since she was having no problems the Equine Surgeon would not put her through that. We will be starting to train her to ride within the next couple months. Watch for updates.

Juice_arrival

We need some sponsors to step forward and help us with Juice's monthly expenses and periodic vet checks.

Juice - 22 year old Quarter Horse - Starvation Case

We do not have much information about Juice. All we know is that she is 22 years old, and that is from a vet so that may even be off a little bit. She came from a home that just didn't think food was an important item for her livelihood. We are still trying to get more information on her but that may never happen. Juice will be in a rehab status for at least a year if not longer.

Please Check back - we will update monthly on her progress.

Jumper, Beauty and Brandy will be added soon - still resizing pictures and working on bios. Please check back.
