New Arrival - Sally Belle
Sally Belle is a 20+ Bay Quarter Horse, 14.1 Hands and weighs 640 lbs. We purchased her for $30.00 at the auction in Hazelhurst, Georgia. She is a sweetheart and is adjusting very nicely.

Sally will be in quarantine for at least 30 days before being introduced to the others. She may be kept in quarantine longer, depending on how well she does with weight gain. We do not want to add any more stress on her so we will be taking things slow with her.

Sally needs to go through her vet check and we need to have her seen by our farrier. Her feet are in poor shape and at times she stumbles, especially if she tries to go to fast.

Sally Needs Sponsors If you would like to help with vet and farrier bills for Sally please visit our "How To Help" page to make a donation through paypal. You may also send a check to TLHR, please visit our "Contact" page to get our address for donations through the mail.

Rainbow Bridge for Jocko

It was a heartbreaking day at Triple "L" today, we said goodbye to Jocko and let him cross the rainbow bridge. It was a very tough decision but one that had to be made for Jocko, not for us. Please go to "Our Horses" to read more.

Home for the Horses Benefit Auction

We have had to extend our auction date,
items are slow coming.
NEW AUCTION DATE:
~ July 12, 2008 ~

*** Scroll down for the link to our ***
"Auction Gallery"
*** Updated as new items arrive. ***

We will be hosting a "Home for the Horses Benefit Auction" in July 2008. The goal of this event is to raise awareness and funds for Triple "L" Horse Rescue (TLHR) because at risk horses need a safe haven and in order to give them one we must raise funds to find a new home.

At the present time we are fighting to keep our doors open but we are very limited as to what we can do. Our landlord has given us notice requesting us to move ASAP and he will not allow us to have more than 3 horses at the rescue unless we pay an additional $400 a month rent. That additional rent would take away from the horses so we moved one of our ponies to a foster home temporarily.

Items that are received will be placed in our live and silent auction. The proceeds from our event are being raised to go towards the purchase of a new home for the horses. The purchase of a home for the horses (present and future) will guarantee that they will never have to worry about losing their home again.

UPDATE

It has been very busy around here the last month. We spent a week at the Brunswick County Fair, then flew off to Washington D.C. for "Horses on the Hill" - lobby to our Senators and Representatives to support the ban on horse slaughter. Then we had Thanksgiving - whew - what a month. Here it is December and still busy. We are organizing some fundraisers right now and hope to have some in action soon. Of course we are still looking for a new home - nothing has come through for us yet. Hopefully we can find something before our landlord gives us the final notice to vacate.

Need a tax break? Please don't forget that donations to TLHR are tax deductible. You will be helping a small charity have a big and happy future.

Nov 30

Looking for a new home... Triple "L" Horse Rescue, Inc. is in dire need of a new home. Our landlord will be doing construction and he has given us notice to move. We would like something with at least 10 acres, but 20+ would be great.

We have applied for a few grants already and waiting to hear on them. We are also looking for that special someone that would like to help us write grants. If you are that person - please call us or email us.

We are looking for that "special" someone that has what we need and offer us a chance at "leasing to own" until we receive some grants or donations to buy. Also, we ARE NOT asking for free rent until grants come in, we will pay rent out of our pockets until we can raise enough money for the rescue to purchase the new home.

We would like to have the rescue buy our new home. Why? Because we will not always be young enough, or healthy enough to run the rescue forever. If the rescue buys our new home, then when the time comes to step down, the horses will NEVER lose their home. My husband and I can move on to a retirement home (or whatever) and never have to worry about where the horses will go. We will just have to worry about finding new "moms and dads" for our equine friends.

We would like to stay around the Brunswick, Georgia area, but we will consider neighboring towns/cities.

If you have something that will give our horses a new home and not in a hurry to sell it right out, please call us.
